SAN MANUEL PARTNERS WITH LOS ANGELES CHARGERS AND LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL CLUB TO HOST SPORTS CLINICS

Highland, CA (November 16, 2017) – San Manuel recently partnered with two major sports teams and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside to host youth sports clinics in the Inland Empire community.
San Manuel hosted a soccer Skills and Drills Clinic with children from the Inland Empire with LAFC on November 12 at the University of Redlands campus. San Manuel and University of Redlands’ volunteers interacted with the kids while LAFC staff taught them soccer skills and drills used by LAFC players. Each child was treated to lunch by San Manuel and went home with a special gift which included a school backpack, LAFC jersey and several other fun items.

“We are committed to our mission of being a force for good throughout the Southern California community, and are proud to participate in the Skills and Drills Clinics with our partners at San Manuel,” LAFC President and Owner Tom Penn said. “These programs are important in educating and engaging kids in the sport of soccer, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in our community through the world’s game.”

Additionally San Manuel teamed up with the Los Angeles Chargers, for Play60 Youth Football Camp on November 14. Play60 is an NFL initiative that encourages the next generation of youth to be active and healthy. Former defensive lineman and Chargers alum, Raylee Johnson, attended the event to speak about the importance of health and fitness while youth camp staff facilitated football drills with the kids. Each child was treated to a snack box provided by San Manuel and took home a swag bag full of Chargers goodies.

These clinics are fun for everyone involved and Chargers alum Raylee Johnson said “For me personally, I get to be young again for a couple hours, but most importantly, I get to spread the word to these kids of what’s important as far as being healthy, eating healthy, exercising and setting goals in the future,” said Chargers alumni, Raylee Johnson. “I think it’s important to always give back to the community. By giving back you get more back in return.”
